What we collect, and why

In plain language, and only the things that are actually true today — not a template with the blanks filled in.

Draft for review, not legal advice. Have this checked before it goes live — especially if anyone signing up might be in the EU or California, which changes what's required here.

Right now, on this waitlist

This page collects the email address you give us, and nothing else about you. By default it's used for one purpose: telling you when Hara is ready. If you also check the newsletter box, we'll additionally send the occasional practice or update — never anything else, and never anything you didn't check for. We don't share your email with anyone, and this site runs no analytics and no advertising trackers.

Once the app is live

Hara will ask for an account (email and password) to keep your data between devices. Beyond that, what it stores is:

What it will never store, because the app doesn't ask for it: calories, food quantities, weight, or BMI. That's not a privacy setting — it's not part of the product.

Meal photos

If you take a photo during a check-in, it stays inside Hara on your device. It is not backed up anywhere, which also means it won't survive reinstalling the app or signing out — worth knowing before you rely on it. A photo is only added to your phone's photo library if you turn that on in the Profile tab; it's off to begin with.

Who else sees it

Two outside services, and no others:

Neither is used for advertising, and your data is never sold, to anyone, for any reason.

Your control

You can delete your account and everything attached to it at any time, from the Profile tab in the app. It removes your check-ins, reflections and coach conversations from our servers and from your phone, and it can't be undone. If anything gets in the way, email [contact email] and we'll do it by hand.

Changes

If this policy changes in a way that matters, it'll be reflected here before it takes effect.
