Terms
The agreement, in plain language
What you can expect from Hara, and what Hara asks of you. Short, because there isn't much to say.
What Hara is, and isn't
Hara is a practice: a way of paying attention to hunger and fullness, with short daily practices and a coach to talk things through with. It is not medical care. It doesn't diagnose or treat anything, and nothing in it is a substitute for a doctor, a therapist or a registered dietitian. If eating feels unsafe, or if you're living with an eating disorder, please talk to a professional first — Hara can sit alongside that care, not in place of it.
The coach is built on an AI language model. It's written to be careful, and it's tested for the hard moments, but it can still be wrong, and it isn't a person. Read it the way you'd read a thoughtful book: something to consider, not an instruction.
Your account
You need to be at least [18] to use Hara. One account is for one person. Keep your sign-in to yourself, and tell us if you think someone else has it. You can delete your account at any time from the Profile tab; that removes everything, and it can't be undone.
Paying for Hara
Hara is a paid app: one subscription, no tiers. The price is shown before you buy, in the App Store's currency for your country.
- Payment goes through your Apple ID when you confirm the purchase.
- The subscription renews on its own at the same price, unless you cancel at least 24 hours before the end of the current period.
- You manage or cancel it in your Apple ID settings, not in the app. Cancelling stops the next charge; the current period runs to its end.
- Refunds are handled by Apple under Apple's terms. We can't issue them ourselves.
- If the price ever changes, you'll be told in advance and asked before it applies to you, the way Apple requires.
- [If a free trial is offered: it converts to a paid subscription at the end of the trial unless cancelled at least 24 hours before.]
Access given without charge — during a beta, or through a code — is a gift, not a term of this agreement. It can end, and we'll say so before it does.
Your words and pictures
What you write in Hara — reflections, notes, conversations with the coach — and any meal photos you take are yours. You give us permission to store and process them for one purpose: running Hara for you. That includes sending your coach messages, and the notes the Insights card reads, to the AI provider that generates the coach's replies. The privacy page says exactly what goes where. We don't use your words to train anything, and we don't sell them.
What we ask of you
Use Hara as a person, for yourself. Don't try to get into anyone else's data, automate the app, or use the coach to produce content that would hurt someone. We can close an account that does.
If Hara changes or ends
Hara will keep changing — practices get rewritten, the coach gets better. If it ever has to stop, you'll hear from us in advance, with time to take what you need from it.
The legal part
Hara is provided as it is, without a guarantee that it's free of errors or right for your situation. To the extent the law allows, we aren't liable for indirect or consequential losses arising from using it. Nothing here limits rights you have as a consumer that can't be limited. These terms are governed by the laws of [jurisdiction].
Changes and contact
If these terms change in a way that matters, it'll be reflected here before it takes effect. Questions go to [contact email].
